Home Brewing Class

Duration: 40 minutes

NOTE: Participants will receive one 12oz bag of coffee and must have their own brewing equipment prior to each lesson.

Full-Immersion Class:

In this interactive-learning workshop, we will review three full-immersion brewing methods: the Aeropress, the French Press, and the Clever Dripper. This hands-on approach will empower you to brew coffee using these three brewing devices. You will learn how each brewing device affects aroma, body, flavor, and aftertaste. In this intriguing art and science class, we will review concepts such as coffee sourcing, roasting, brewing temperature, extraction rates, brewing ratios, water profiles, coffee-grind size, coffee dosing, and total brew time. Most importantly, we will drink coffee and have a lot of fun! 

Note: If you pass this class, you are required to take our Pour-Over Class, which is a lot more challenging. 

Pour-Over Class:
            This interactive class is designed with a hands-on approach. You will gain knowledge in the following pour-over devices:  Hario V60, Kalita Wave, and the Chemex Coffeemaker. You will learn the art and science of brewing pour-over coffee, and review concepts such as coffee sourcing, roasting, brewing temperature, extraction rates, brewing ratios, water profiles, ground-coffee particle size, coffee dosing, and total brew time. As we do in our Home Brewing class, we will drink coffee, and we will also discuss how minor variables in brewing contribute to aroma and flavor in specialty coffee.  

Note: A fun attitude is a prerequisite for this session.
