Trinity V60 Immersion-Style Recipe
Prep
Heat water to ~203 °F.
Rinse the filter to remove paper taste and preheat the dripper and carafe. Discard rinse water.
Add 20 g ground coffee. Tap to level.
Step 1. Bloom
Start timer. Pour 50–60 g to fully wet the bed. Gently swirl to break dry pockets. Let it bloom for 40–45 seconds to release CO₂ and prime extraction.
Step 2. Immersion fill
At 0:45, pour steadily to ~300 g total, aiming for a flat bed. Light agitation helps. Then stop pouring and steep until 1:45. This short immersion boosts sweetness and body without muddiness.
Step 3. Tilt + finish
At 1:45, tilt the dripper slightly or give a gentle swirl to re-level the bed and encourage an even drawdown. Finish the pour to 320 g by 2:00. Let it drain completely. Target total brew time 2:45–3:15. If it runs much faster, grind finer; if it stalls, coarsen slightly.
Yield
About 285–300 g in the cup. Enjoy at 130–150 °F for peak flavor.
What to expect in the cup
Light roasts from Trinity should show citrus, florals, stone fruit, honeyed sweetness, and a tea-like finish.
This method balances clarity with rounded body that beginners find easy to dial in.
Quick troubleshooting
Sour, thin: Grind a bit finer, keep water near 203 °F, extend immersion by 10–15 seconds.
Bitter, dry: Grind a bit coarser, lower temp to 198–200 °F, reduce agitation.
Channeling or uneven bed: Pour slower and swirl after bloom.
Stalled drawdown: Coarsen grind or reduce fines.
Optional variants to test
Faster, brighter cup: Same ratio. Use 40–45 g bloom, pour to 320 g by 1:45, minimal agitation, total time 2:30–2:50.
Sweeter, rounder cup: Keep the immersion until 2:00, then finish the pour. Total 3:10–3:30.
Iced V60: Brew 1:12 hot over ice for a bright flash-brew. Bloom as above, then pour hot water equal to final yield minus ice.
