Our mission is to fuse diversity and unity, catering to coffee enthusiasts from all walks — saints, sinners, and third wave aficionados. We offer a distinctive Chicano-inspired coffee journey, drawing from our cultural roots and a passion for craft. Our family-owned endeavor creates a genuine port-to-pour experience, fostering community through outreach that spreads hope and love.
Our vision revolves around specialty coffee as a unifying force. We infuse the essence of our Harbor Area barrio into each cup, selecting specialty coffee, ethically-sourced beans roasted weekly for ultimate freshness and flavor. We serve coffee and cultivate connections.
Easter weekend in 2018, we invited neighbors and strangers on our block to our home to drink specialty coffee. Although we were new residents, our family had been living in the Harbor Area for years and understood the importance of local pride, familia, and a united community. We opened our tiny garage on 21st & Alma in the Port of Los Angeles, to welcome locals to drink pour-over coffee with us—free of charge! As our family car, a classic 1965 Chevy Nova, played sweet soul music of the past, and as the coffee poured out, my wife and I previewed a future where coffee could unite a diverse city.
Our desire to cater to the needs of our neighbors is the spirit of Coffee | Brew | Cultura. We are a stand-out in specialty coffee because our business delivers an impact that is proven. Through our heartfelt commitment to philanthropy, we have transformed the mindset of many who have been captivated by our third-wave coffee experience. The coffee flavors in our brewing vessels are unmatched, and we are proud to promote our product and culture—one city block at a time.
Supporting our local communities while delivering quality coffee is a priority for our business. In our first year of operation at the pop-up stage, we were able to raise enough funds to assist our neighbors with essentials such as back-to-school clothing and supplies for kids, funding for sports programs and Christmas giveaways; and we even helped families with the difficult task of burial services. We believe in coffee with a cause.
In the second year, our community aid included donating coffee to churches, teaching free entrepreneurship classes at schools in the Harbor Area, and mentoring at-risk youth. We have donated over 50 pounds of specialty coffee to charities and nonprofits and have become the first coffee pop-up in the South Bay to accept cryptocurrency for craft coffee. We add love to every community in our city.
In keeping with our commitment to giving back, our desire is to employ the overlooked youth in the Harbor Area. Young people are the future of our communities, and their creativity and passion often go unnoticed. We want to equip our future leaders with education and job training to strengthen our city from at-risk, homeless, disabled, or mentality-diverse youth.
Finally, we want to reflect the kind of culture and attitude where diversity in appearance and innovation in thought are cornerstones to our business. The global coffee-supply chain is vast, and we want to partner with those willing and able to enhance our local and global economy. It is a sincere pleasure for our family to see others grow and succeed.
